Qingfeng (Connell) Zhang

Qingfeng (Connell) Zhang, based in Shanghai, is our Asian representative on the Board of Advisors of Campus2Career Transition Services, LLC. Connell’s breadth of experience in the Asian region, coupled with his understanding of Western companies and how they conduct business there, provide us and our clients with ample contacts and counseling advice. Connell understands the international world and the prominence that China and the rest of Asia have gained. He is fully aware of the opportunities there.

Connell is currently Tonnage Business Head of Greater China for Linde/BOC. Prior to that, he was Managing Director – Asia for Hubble Power Systems, a leading US manufacturer of utility infrastructure equipment and systems. Among other responsibilities, he is developing and implementing strategies and tactics for growth throughout Asia.

Before joining Hubble, Connell held P & L responsibility for two joint ventures and two wholly owned entities of the Linde Group in Greater China. Total revenues were $140 million. Linde acquired the BOC Group, Connell’s previous employer, where he had been the Senior Business Development Director, China, for the BOC Group. During his six years at BOC, Connell worked the BOC’s Murray Hill, New Jersey office before transferring to Shanghai. In China, he managed all aspects of the growth of the $8 billion global chemical company in that region.

Connell started his career in the early 1990s in Beijing with Minmetals, the Chinese National Minerals and Metals Corporation, as Business Manager in the European Business Department. From there, he went to Avesta Sheffield AB as the Chief Representative of the Swedish company’s Beijing Office and North China operations.

After spending the summer of 2000 with GE Capital in Pennsylvania, Connell went to the Yale University School of Management where he was awarded an MBA. Previously, in 1993, Connell received a Bachelor’s degree with highest honors in International Economics from Renmin University of China in Beijing.

Connell lives in Shanghai with his wife and daughter. They enjoy travelling and sports.
