Kendall was a B. A. graduate with a major in Anthropology from an excellent small, private liberal arts college in the Midwest. She had one and-a-half years teaching experience in Argentina, where she taught English to Argentines through two different institutes. She also set up her own successful business teaching English to clients in Buenos Aires. She further developed her Spanish language skills while there. Kendall tired of teaching and felt she had exhausted her opportunities in Buenos Aires and was ready for a career change; she moved back to the States. She was interested in higher education (alumni relations & development), international education and study abroad programs, but not really sure where to start.

Henry was a graduate of a small, private school in California with a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports management. He was a three-year captain of his college lacrosse team and a two-sport high school athlete. He knew he wanted to work in sports. After graduate school he served as the Operations Manager for a California minor league baseball team during its inaugural season; the team struggled to make money and subsequently cut staff, including Henry. His preference was to stay in Northern California, where he had some personal and professional contacts.
