Campus2Career's Approach
The first step was to discuss the merits of Marianna's professional choice because it was such a narrow, specific niche. It was important to establish her rationale and qualifications for such a choice to present a compelling case to prospective employers.
From this discussion we created a résumé which highlighted Marianna's achievements and potential. As a team, we discussed her strengths and limitations as they pertained to her search.
We formulated strategies to approach the companies Marianna identified as targets. We reviewed her network and developed lists of a wide variety of qualified individuals who could assist in the search. In short, we developed a plan. As in all our cases, we added our own personal contacts and professional networks to Marianna's. She learned and capitalized on seeking next steps from each meeting.
Outcome
Marianna successfully landed her first job in New York City. She is a talented young lady who simply needed third party guidance and a hands-on approach to her search. She continues to be happily employed.
